"In the maps of East Haven (Mioonhkatuck), drawn and compiled by Ezra Stiles of Yale College, Stiles recorded the ancient maweomi of the Quinnipiac and indicates a spot shown as an ancient mill. Also in this small complex is our ancestral Indian stronghold which we call a menuhkenum. Other stone pile markers and wampum shell piles are shown." [Click here]
